Curriculum
Our teachers use the Maine Learning Results as the backbone to their curriculum. Methods of the Responsive Classroom encourage teamwork, character-growth, active involvement and academic engagement. Expeditionary Learning units are challenging projects developed to enhance teaching across the subject areas of math, literacy, science and social studies.
Field trips, guest speakers and community service projects support and enhance the classroom experience. Parent volunteers play a key role in making these extracurricular activities possible.
Throughout the school year, students showcase their progress to family members during potluck dinner/presentations. These gatherings help strengthen our close-knit community by giving teachers, parents and students a chance to meet and socialize. The group presentations highlight the projects the students have been working on and give them the opportunity to speak/perform in front of an audience.
