Jes has been with Boxberry since 2005 and teaches the lower grades as well as being the art teacher. Jes graduated with a B.S. in art education from the University of Maine, Orono and lives in Oxford with her husband Erik and their two daughters. While a student at UMO, she received honors such as Golden Key Scholar and art teacher of the year. Jes was also a volunteer art teacher at the Alton Elementary School and taught many youth cross-country ski programs over the years. Outside of Boxberry, Jes likes to hike, rock climb, and make art.
Eliza has been an assistant teacher at Boxberry since its inception in 2003. She moved to Maine from New York City in 1994. Eliza has been teaching yoga to adults since 2000 and welcomed the opportunity to teach at Boxberry School to teach yoga to young children. Eliza says, "It has been an immensely rewarding experience to share my love of yoga with younger students with the added benefit of refreshing the playful and inquisitive side of myself." Eliza participated in a Brain Gym® workshop over the summer of 2005 and has been incorporating the techniques learned into sessions with the students at school. While not at school, Eliza enjoys taking long walks, reading, and spending time with her family. Lucille “Seal” Rossignol, Teacher Seal has been teaching the upper grades at Boxberry since 2006. She was previously the Residential Director at the Leadership Decisions Institute at Kieve, an experiential education program for middle school students in Nobleboro, Maine. She has a varied background in the experiential education field having worked with at-risk youth in therapeutic environments, trained adults to become outdoor leaders, and taught fourth graders using an expeditionary learning framework. In her free time, Seal enjoys backpacking with her new husband and their two dogs, and when she gets some quiet time, voraciously reading.
